Recovery console

Went to do a recovery for the first time, it brings up 1: F\Windows
Why does it do this when the CD is in my E drive - how do get it say what it
should-
I am running Windows XP Home Edition -
 
Forgot to mention - my hardive is C: and I do have an OEM Version, F- is
just my plain CD Rom- E: is where my CD burner is
how can I get it say C:\Windows which is what it should say

This happens when XP is installed on an either logical or different primary
partition other than the first primary partition on your first HDD. In this
scenarion the 3 boot files (NTDetect.com, NTLDR and BOOT.INI are located on
the first primary partition (AKA as C:))...
