Hi Abe,
You may be a victim of Sysprep, see:
Cannot Log On to Recovery Console After Running Sysprep [Q308402]

If so, the workaround is to use the boot floppy set. You can get them here:
Home edition:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=33290
Professional edition:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=33291

clicked on the PRO link you supplied, and when I
followed instructions, what appeared did not match what
the Release said would appear. I can save to hard
drive, but I was unable to save to floppies. It *said*
it was giving that option......but it didn't do so.

Oh, so *that's* the trick! Thanks, Rick.Rick said:Hi Bill,
You save the download to hard drive, then double-click the saved file. It
will run and prompt you to create the boot floppy set.
Did it just fine. Thanks again, Rick.William said:Oh, so *that's* the trick! Thanks, Rick.
