I do know how to make the Recoery console to stop asking for password, but i
have 2 OS....1 works and other 1 doesn't. If I do the trick on the recovery
console on the working OS, it doesn't ask for a password only for working OS
not for not working OS. does anyone know how to do the trick for both OS?
Recovery Console Password
On many XP installations you can't start the Recovery Console because it
won't recognize your password. This registry edit causes the Recovery Console
not to ask for a password. This works for both XP Home and XP Professional.
Start | Run | Regedit
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Setup\RecoveryConsole
Set the DWORD SecurityLevel value to 1
Exit Registry and Reboot
