Recovery Conole requests password. What does one enter when there is no
password on the system.
I've tried 'administrator' and [return] ?

I'm trying to rebuild the boot sector on a crashed Tecra. Gerald.

It want the origonal password that you set when the system was installed.

You could try resetting the administrator password using tip 1984 in the 'Tips &
Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com

Assuming you are using Windows 2000 --
There MUST have been a password entered for the Administrator account during setup. Setup requires the creation of the administrator account with a password.

Just hit return if there is no passowrd for the sustem; don't type administrator. The Administrator account is the only account
that can log into the Recovery Console so the username is just assumed and not asked for.
