Recovering saved over files

So it appears I have saved new pictures over my daughters 1st Birthday
pictures. I truly believe I have lost them forever (we've had additional
computer problems). My level stops at discovering the file was created on
Feb 8, and modified on Feb 21st (when I saved a new set pf pictures under the
same name). Is there a way of recovering the original file? If so, how
would I go about that?

Deleted files can usually be recovered but
overwritten files are lost unless you had a
program like Norton GoBack running when
the issue occurred that could revert your hard
drive to a time before the files were overwritten.
This can also be a disadvantage because
you lose everything you saved since that time
unless you make backups before you revert
the drive.

Unless you still have the originals on your
Memory Card they are probably gone forever.
It may be worth a try to recover the files from
your memory card...the following freebie may
be useful:

PC Inspector Smart Recovery

Good luck!

Welcome, I was prepared to spend some money to get them recovered.
