I have 2 hard drives both 40G and both NTFS. One hard drive (now the D drive) is for some reason broken into 4 partitions. D,G,H & I. I was using Partition Commander to move my files to my new hard drive (C). Somewhere along the line the program went wacko. I can not access the partitions. I can see them and I know how much space is used and free but I can not access the files. Is there a program that is free that will allow me to recover my lost files? I am only interested in the music files and Outlook files. The rest can be history. Can someone please, please help me with this. Thanks

I'm not sure how old your copy of Partition Commander is, but it has
worked reasonably well for me.

What do you mean that you cannot access the partitions? Are you booting
from the older drive? Does the system boot?

Anyway, you might try to use a program like BootMaster to see if your
partition table can be restored and your older drive can be restored. But
keep in mind, don't write anything to the older drive to avoid messing it
up any more till you can restore it.
