Recovering Documents

I was writing a document in the Microsoft Works Word
Processer when all of a sudden my computer restarted.
When it turned back on it found a virus, but the document
i was typing never recovered. My friend tells me
Microsoft Works doesnt have the same AutoSave function
that Microsoft Word has. Is this true?

It is not a really auto save function.
