recovering deleted files

R

Richard

A user of my computer accidentally deleted a file folder
full of pictures. I did not go to my recycle bin(or was
emptied). is there any way at all to recover these??
Would doing a system recovery to another date help?? Or
are they gone for good?? :-(

As Will says DO NOT run System Restore. It might cause you to overwrite the
lost files making it impossible to recover some of them. Also stop using
your computer and do not reboot it. Use the freeware app that he pointed
to - Restoration. It works very nicely. Download it on another computer if
possible and extract it to a floppy. Run the app off the floppy and you will
be able to recovery lost files with it.

Due to the following limitation in Executive's Undelete 3.0 you may want
to check out File Saver, instead

http://www.file-saver.com/undelete/menu.htm?afl=7673

From Executive's web page:

If you are trying to recover a file already deleted, you must buy the full
product, as this trialware does not include the direct-from disk recovery
available in the retail version.
