Recovering Data From WD HDD

Pardon me if I'm not in the right place.

The other day, my PC power supply shorted & apparently fried the electronics
on my Western Digital WD400BB, rendering it completely inoperable. Since I
have nothing to lose at this point, I'd like to attempt to replace the
onboard PCB with one from an identical drive, so I may recover the data. I
don't intend to use an expensive service to do this.

Any tips on how I may do this, short of using a power saw?!

Dont need a power saw. The screws that attach the logic
card should be obvious, dont go opening the sealed chamber.

Havent seen any reports of success with the WD400BB
tho, even with a pair of brand new drives.

U need to se there is diode that can shortcircuit.
But If u need pcb board look at the pcb board there is green digits
xxx-xxxx-xxx they need to be the same

If you're talking about the number on the label on the PCB, I don't have it.
I have to find an identical PCB to the old one. I did buy another WD400BB
HDD, & installed it's PCB on to my old HDD, but it only worked partially.
Hopefully the drive motor & platters aren't damaged.

the best thing is to repair it , so then u know that u have th
originale board.so change the motor driver and u have the workin
board
U can contact me on p.m. for details
