I have inadvertently (read: incredibly stupidly) deleted many of the
contacts in my contacts folder. As I understand it, this contacts file
information is held in the PST file. I have a recent PST backup stored by
Norton's Ghost (two files, actually, a large one [~4 megs] and a second,
much smaller one [~32K]. Using this (or these?) backup PST file, is it
possible to restore ONLY my contacts folder (e.g., as in the import
procedure where one can tell Outlook to import stuff while excluding
duplicates) -- *without* overwriting my messages -- I do not want to
overwrite my more recent messages and other data and changes. ??

TIA

Russ,

Thank you very much. It went smooth as silk.

Just open the PST file in Outlook and copy what you want.
