I just finished typing up a 36 page document and did not
save my changes in error. Is there any way to recover
this document.

No.

As Suzanne said, "No" to your recovering
changes in your saved document.

Sometimes, you can get lucky if--and I
don't know why--Word will create odd
temporary files. These may have some,
or all, of your changes. Don't get your
hopes up but...

Look for temporary files starting with
"~wrl" If you find one dated the same
day as your revisions, open it in Word
and review its contents. You may be
able to save some of your work.

It's a real looooooooong shot but
worth a try.

If the document has *never* been saved, though, it's unlikely that you'll
find one of these.

Agree with you, Suzanne. However, there was a remote
chance that the Word gods were smiling upon her. lol

Hers is a sad , tragic reminder of why using "Save"
is important; and why one should have, and use, a
CD-R drive. I'm so paranoid that I print documents
and back up to CD-RW discs every other day. Also
back up my project folder daily to an older "D" hard drive.
My time and mental energy justifies the effort.

Say, next time you see W.E.B. Griffin (Butterworth)
in Fairhope, tell him I said hi. Adore his marine novels.

I've never actually met Bill Butterworth (he's rather reclusive), though
I've edited some of his small pieces (the latest for "Stories from the Blue
Moon Café II"). But I know people who do see him occasionally, and I'll pass
on your comments.
