Recovering a deleted file

I somehow managed to delete a file from within FP2003 that I now
desperately need to recover. If I can't find this file somewhere then
the terrorists will win or something.

When you delete, say, maps01.htm, using FP2003 in Windows XP, what
happens to it? It's not in the Recycle Bin, it's not in any of my
three browsers' caches that I can find, and it's not in any backup I
might have made. I never published it to the server.

Where can I look for this vital file that took me maybe a dozen hours
to create and perfect?

Thanks for your sympathy, but mostly thanks for any help you can offer.

Sorry, but when you delete a file in FP, it is immediately deleted.

If you feel your current issue is a results of installing
a Service Pack or security update, please contact

If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a
security update, then there is usually no charge for the call.

If you ever previewed it in your browser, you might find something in your
browser cache.

But why did Microsoft do this? They were certainly not thinking of the
convenience of the user.

Because you can't send files to Recycle across a domain.

That is, from a server to a client or the other way around.

So the only option is to delete them permanently

It's an operating system issue, not a FrontPage issue.
