Recovering a 2007 Word File--Win 7

Well, I've never done this before. Several weeks I wrote a Word file
called (fictional name) HelloThere.docx. Today I wrote another one by
the same name with a completely different intent. I was using the old
one for reference. I had both of them up at the same time and didn't
even notice the difference. How could that be? I probably created the
new one from scratch, and despite numerous saves of it, Word didn't
complain. BTW, no wbk files are available. Awhile ago, I closed the new
one, and began to close the old one. Word offered that I was replacing a
file by that name. I thought what the heck I did modify a few words in
the old one, so allowed the save.

I suspect there's no way to undo the old files to see the new one?
Although, I think Win 7, etc. have some sort of restore to some point.

This may not be a true disaster. I had printed out a copy of the new
one, and it only received a few changes afterward. I do have an HP
printer with OCR.

Comments.

Word would not have allowed you to save a new file with the same name unless
you saved it in a different folder. Do you see two files of the same name in
the Office Button MRU list?

Nope. I only saw one shortly after discovering the problem. I now have
added about 6 new MRUs. I suppose it's possible two exist in different
places, but the Win 7 Search button only shows one. I've had that search
fail before, but AFAIK only when something wasn't indexed.

I have reconstructed the docx using the OCR on my last printed doc. I'm
probably missing a few changes, but will examine it closely.
