recovered file folder named application data?

Help! I can't find a Word file I was working on. I have tried looking in
recent documents, sorting by name, sorting by date, etc. I checked and I
have autorecover on and then I looked at file locations under tools/options
and it shows a long string of filenames, one of which is application data. I
can't find application data anywhere. Is it hidden somehow?

Application Data is hidden folder. You can set Windows Explorer to display
hidden folders, but I doubt that it will help in this instance. If Word
crashes and the document is captured by autorecover the document will be
automatically recovered the next time you start Word. This is not a backup
function.

Did you actually save the document? If not there is nothing to recover.

If you saved it it should be listed in the recent files list - unless you
opened it from an e-mail message in which case it *may* be possible to
recover your changes. See http://www.gmayor.com/outlook_attachments.htm
