recover unsaved document

is there any way to set MS Word so that you can recover an unsaved document
if you inadvertantly select do not save changes. i know that it can be done
if there is a system failure etc, but most of my problems and those of others
that i have heard from are from inavertantly exiting without saving.
 
If you didn't save it there's nothing to recover.
