I use outlook 2007 with exchange. I have managed to loose my contacts, to
the point that they can't be recovered.

when i go to create an email however, if i start typing an email address in
the to filed, it has a list of the old email addresses.

How can i import all of these email addresses back into my contacts?

thanks.

See http://www.ingressor.com for an explanation of the .nk2 file which is
what Outlook is referencing, not your contact folder.

If you have Exchange, why is your contact folder contents lost?

The autocompletion cache has nothing to do with your Contacts, nor can you
import that information without third party software. Inasmuch as you are
running against Exchange Server, why are you posting this question here
instead of asking your Exchange administrator? He or she can easily recover
the information you only imagine you have lost.

i am the admin...

its a long story, but the data is stuck in orphaned exchange databases, that
i can't seem to get to mount so i can recover the data

Ouch. Well if none of the Exchange folks can help you recover the data
conventionally, Milly has already posted a link to the only utility I know
of that can pull it from an NK2 file. Microsoft has provided no support for
managing NK2 files and appears to have no interest in doing so.

i just purchased the utility, and it worked!!

it was a really ugly situation with the exchange server, but thankfully only
this one set of contacts was lost.

it could have been much worse.
