Recover HD data

Good Morning,

I had a major failure with my old system that used a pair of Seagate 120's
in a RAID 0 for the boot drive.

After rebuilding with new drives and using no RAID anywhere, I find that
XP-PRO will not recognize the old Seagates. I have tried installing them in
primary and secondary MB IDE headers and in PCI card IDE headers. I have
also tried simply installing them as secondaries in other systems and neither
BIOS nor WIN will find them.

Best case is to recover BOTH the data on them and be able to reformat them
for data storage. If data recovery is not possible, I would at least like to
reformat them.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

Were they (re)jumpered correctly? Did you BIOS-test them separately? If the BIOS of
two different systems (three, if you count the PCI card) cannot see the drives,
then you're not going to have much luck with any software solutions.
Including the OS.

So the drives are not detected in multiple PC's and you still want to use
them for data storage?!
 
Thank you, all, for responding. Of course I wouldn't want to store valuable
data on a bad hard drive. It is my hope that there is nothing fundamentally
wrong with both of them. What are the odds?

I was hoping there was some routine I had overlooked.
