Try compacting your database using Jetcomp, available at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=273956

If that fails, try creating a new database and importing objects from the
old.

If that fails, you can try www.pksolutions.com

Tried both methods, and failed, have day before backup(but will lose a days work), don't want to pay for a service, any other ideas?

yes, it wont let me, says need to repair and that's where it hangs,since I can't open it I cant export to another db or text file

Ask yourself the question, "Which will be more costly -- paying someone to
reenter the day's work that was lost or paying pksolutions to recover it for
you?" If the other things Joan suggested didn't work, then those are your
only 2 options.

Try downloading "Jetcomp.exe" from http://support.microsoft.com.
It's free.Might help...

Why not try the following?Not sure if it will work,haven't tested,just a thought

Open your backup DB.Try importing the tables from your corrupt database into the backup DB (or a totally new Db if you wish).You might be able to access it in that way
