Is there anything out there that can recover files even if the drive
has been formatted?

Sometimes professional data recovery software can do this. I use
Ontrack's Easy Recovery Pro, but it is quite expensive. There are free
or inexpensive programs that might also do this. I don't have any
experience with them, but here are a few links:

If the data is crucial, IMO you would be better off contacting a
professional data recovery firm such as DriveSavers or the like. These
firms' services are not inexpensive, but only you can determine the
value of your data.

Yes, it is definately possible. The best chances are imho to use mighty
data recovery tools such as Active@ Undelete or Uneraser (for DOS).
They will be able to bring back your erased data, moreover, thay never
corrupted mine restored info. I'm pretty sure these tools will be able
to solve your problem.
