Recover Favorites after Crash

My Windows XP Pro desktop crashed a couple of days ago. I believe
that Windows got corrupted somehow. I was able to reinstall Windows
AP Pro on another drive on the computer and then access the drive
where I had WinXP origionally installed. While I did not loose any
data, I did loose my IE Favorites (I have a backup but it's several
months old). While I can live if I loose this file, I'd like to
recover it. Whenever I try to access my directory (mjlaris) under
Documents and Settings, I get a message saying that it is not
accessable. I suspect that this is because I'm not loged on (actually
loged on to another installation of Windows). I tried using the File
and Settings migration utility on the WinXp CD, and while it copies a
bunch of files over, it does not seem to do anything with what it
copies or at any rate, does not restore my Favorites. Does anyone
have any suggestions?
