recover emails archived from the deleted items folder

I have lost almost 800 emails from my deleted items folder. I believe i
inadvertently hit the archive option as i was trying to figure out how to
move these items to my new computer. Can i get them back?
 
Why do you want the trash back?

Depending on your archive settings (r-click on the folder, properties,
autoarchive) they might be in an archive folder. If not, they are gone
unless it;s an exchange mailbox.
 
It was not trash. They were the stuff i didn't want in my inbox but i didn't
want to totally delete (like good jokes). I should have copied them to some
other place. I have done what you recommended and the files are gone. Thanks
for your help.
