I have aquired a Dell OptiPlex GX200 with MS Windows 2000
Professional (NTFS) loaded.

This system was previously used as a workstation. I do not
have any Operating /Boot cds or backup disks.

Currently the username: Administrator
Password: I do not have this information.

Is there a solution to this problem ? I can get into
system setup.

Thank y9ou

I use a hackers' utility called "In Code We Trust". Its
pretty handy. Search for "icwt" or "icwt.iso" on Google
to find the download. It is an ISO image that you burn
to CD. Boot the machine with the CD.

The following is quoted from the readme.

<begin quote>

ICWT is a bootable CD-ROM, with full FAT32, NTFS v4
(Windows NT),
NTFS v5 (Windows 2000/XP) support. Its main purpose
is to plant a
backdoor or change the Administrator password on a
Windows machine.

How do I blank a password under Windows NT/2k/XP ?

If the NTFS partition is mounted on D:, simply run:
"PASSWD D:", then follow the interactive menu.

IMPORTANT NOTE: on Windows 2k/XP, setting a non-blank
password does _not_ work, because of SYSKEY. However,
setting a blank password with '*' works fine.

Hope this helps you.
