Is there a way to record video and use it to play back in a presentation?

Example: For training... show the mouse moving to a particluar button and
clicking then returning to the presentation for the user to do?

There are many screen-recording utilities out there - Camtasia is a big
favourite of mine but not cheap: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia.asp
MS offer a free add-in for PowerPoint that allows you to screen record - you
can then use the videos in anyway you want (i.e. you don't have to do what
the add-in wants you to do). It has no bells and no whistles but it does
have a nice price tag ;-):

Camtasia is a powerful screen recording tool for you. To me
DemoCreator (http://www.sameshow.com/demo-creator.html) is my
favourite one, it's very easy-to-use and cheap. The most important is
that it is SCORM compliant. Also, the output Flash can be easily
insert to PowerPoint, you could view this demo:
