is there any special software I need to record my phone conversations with my
computer and how would I do this?
 
Never heard this one before...Try downloading WM encoder 9 series,in the
encoder select capture audio/video,open youre sounds properties (volume
control),options,properties,select record from playback,locate the hardware
for the phone in the "show volume control box",close or min window.
