Hi,

My problem is about the recording function of movie maker.
Can movie maker record a video playing on winamp or
Windows media Player?If yes how?

Hello Ted,

As far as I know, it is not possible to use Movie Maker in this way. The
reason is because all three programs mentioned use a system called DirectX
to display data at a very high speed to a dedicated section of memory
(Ultimately your screen) Movie Maker can not "read" that information...it
can only send information to it.

I have seen a program advertised on the net somewhere that will read the
directx screen, but I cannot remember where or what it was called. I am
fairly sure it appeared in a search result looking for DVD programs that
could make a copy of the DVD.

Sorry its not much more help than that.

Some sound cards/drivers allow you can record what's currently playing on
the computer's speakers. You select your sound card in the capture wizard
and for the input source select what the sound card is playing. On my
computer the audio device is SoundMAX Digital Audio the input source is
called "Wave Out Mix" or I've seen it called "What you hear". Some sound
cards do not support this feature.

Hi there,

I think the OP wanted to capture the video which is not possible (the
way/he/she wants to do it)
