Recording from VCR

I am using a Belkin USB videoBus II. In my Armarda 1592 I get sound and
video(jerky of course) but in the new Presario the video is perfect but no
sound. When I select the videobus for audio the ADC slider is greyed out. If
i choose the Soundmax software(with PC) I still cannot record sound. Can
anyone offer a suggestion
