Perhaps you would like to tell us what the problem is. We may be able to
help you.

see extract; my camera is a Panasonic:
6/9/03 - There seems to be a problem that occurs when
recording back to DV tape. Adding transitions between
clips sometimes causes a discontinuity in the audio, both
the dialog and music. This problem is evident when
recoding back to the camera. If I record back to the
camera again the problem occurs in exactly the same
place. If the transition (for example a fade or blinds)
is removed then everything is ok. I have done this on two
different computer systems, both high end (2.4GHz, 1 G
RAM, 120G HD). I have also recoded back to two different
cameras - Canon XL1s and the other is a Sony. A glitch
occurs at the same place in both cases.

Hi there,

Yes I understand what your problem is. The computer I use is a 2GHz machine
and sending a composition back to my Canon fortunately does not exhibit this
problem.

May I suggest that you try saving to DV-AVI first, then confirm whether or
not the problem is apparent in that file. If it is, then you have a data
flow bottle neck and it is not related to the camera at all. If the DV-AVI
file is good then I would get hold of a free program called WINDV from the
following link...

http://windv.mourek.cz/

The purpose of this program is simply to move DV-AVI files between camera
and computer, it does nothing else.

With regard to the procedure already mentioned in the second paragraph, the
reason for doing it this way is because of the lack of one option in Movie
Maker...the transfer of a previously created file back to the camera. Movie
Maker always re-compiles the file, and that makes it difficult to determine
where the problem is.
