I think it would be a good idea if we all post a
discovered virus list, making sure there are no repeat
entries.

Just a suggestion: 10 votes maximum either yea or nay
should do it.

This is what the spynet reporting system already does--they get moment by
moment information about the products performance in the real world. And,
through the suspected spyware reports, and through the choices user make in
blocking installations, a picture of what is new and upcoming.

I, too, would like to see the database behind the product more available for
research--perhaps it would help to clean a new variant if you could read
about one that Microsoft Antispyware can already clean. I don't believe the
obstacles to publishing this material are technical, so I'll leave it to the
folks working on that to figure out what they feel they can do without
adding to the cost--in terms of legal fees--of providing this service.

Hello Bill,
My problem is the lack of spyware discovered by MSAS.
I always run MSAS first with no results.
I then run Lavasoft's Adaware, then Spybot and they find
spyware. It is necessary to develop my confidence in MSAS
as eventually I am going to depend on that program for
protection of "my wares (;)".

Check the details. Microsoft Antispyware, in the builds distributed so far,
doesn't scan for cookies.
This accounts for most of the difference in comparisons I've seen with
ad-aware. No harm in running both--keeps them honest--but ad-aware, unless
you are running the paid version, doesn't provide any real-time protection.
