I use the dialling box in outlook contacts to make my calls. I use a speaker
modem which records any messages I get. Would anyone know if it is possible
to record a telephone call through Outlook or my speaker modem? I have tried
to record it through Windows sound recorder but with no success. When I
receive a call it comes through my computer speakers. My thinking was if the
sound comes through them I should be able to record through them.
Can anyone help?

Many thanks

Hi, did what you said Wave was not it the recording section but is there
when you open the volume bar along with many others. How would I record
though? what do I press? what software do I use? If the sound is coming out
of the speakers when I get a call, does that mean it is recordable? The
software I use with the modem is able to take messages from the callers, I
want to be able to do just that but whilst holding the conversation with
them. I hope I am making sense to you? lol

Many thanks for your help Roady.

I hit the reply to get back to you but did not put a e-mail address in for
me. I must be doing something wrong.

You're welcome but I can't really help you as this is way off-topic for this
newsgroup.

All I can tell you is that you have to see what your recording options are.
Select that audiostream and practically every soundrecorder can record from
it. You might need to select a different "Mixer Device" in the properties of
Play Control.

Good Luck!

Remember, It's illegal in the U.S. to record a phone conversation
without giving the person on the other end notice at the beginning of the
call. So, However you do it, you need to inform the person, or have
something to supply a periodic beep tone.
