IN AN EXCEL DATABASE IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO EXTRACT OR
FILTER A LIST OF RECORDS BY COMPARING THEIR CONTENTS TO A
SINGLE PREDEFINED STRING OF CHARACTERS? EACH RECORD
EXTRACTED SHOULD CONTAIN SOMEWHERE WITHIN IT IN ANY FIELD
AT LEAST ONE OCCURRENCE OF THAT PARTICULAR STRING OF
CHARACTERS.
IN EXCEL THIS MAY ONLY BE DONE USING A COMPLICATED AND
LONG WINDED ADVANCED FILTER ENTAILING A GREAT WASTE OF
TIME.
SEARCHING ENTIRE DATABASES FOR LISTS OF MATCHING RECORDS
BY SIMPLE KEYWORD WAS POSSIBLE IN MICROSOFT WORKS USING
ONE SIMPLE COMMAND. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE BEEN INCLUDED
IN EXCEL, OR IN THE OUTLOOK EXPRESS OR OUTLOOK ADDRESS
BOOKS. A PITY.
PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME.
