Microsoft is lining up a record equaling 17 security bulletins, nine rated critical and eight classified as important, as part of the April edition of its monthly Patch Tuesday updates.
The 12 April security update batch will collectively address 64 security vulnerabilities. Bugs in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Visual Studio, and .NET Framework will all be patched.

I had a few from last week that wouldn't install, so the extras were probably those.

20 For me also - at first it only said 3, but after reading this thread I made it re-check and got another 17. :)

Thought I'd missed out. Only one last night but 25 this morning. Better get to work on them. :)

16 for me, don't have orifice :)

oh, and it's quite common for us here in the UK to get our Tuesdays' update on a Wednesday, the US are behind us after all ... always use the "check for updates" button :)
