Is there a way to create a record/pointer for a directory
on a web site.

The record for "Bart.mynet.com" is site
location "10.0.0.10"

Can you create a record/pointer for "homer.mynet.com" for
the site location "10.0.0.10/directory" ?

The DNS server is in the "mynet.com" domain

You can create a PTR record with what ever name you want. For the most part
only SMTP servers have any interest in correct PTR records.

No. Naming the directory on your machine that you happen to store your web
site data in is not a DNS function. It is a function of your content HTTP
server (and is entirely a private matter for that server alone). Configure
your content HTTP server appropriately.

Oops, you're correct Jonathan, I misread the original post. I was only
thinking of the PTR record which has no relationship to anything but some
applications and SMTP servers.
