Record Counter for Subform

Hi all,

I have been racking my brains for ages over this one and can't seem to come to a reasonable solution.

I have a form that contains a combo box and a continuous subform.
The subform shows several rows related to the value in the combo box.
I would like to add a record counter column to the subform results so that the first row will have a number 1, the second row a number 2 etc.

Does anybody know how I could do this???

It seems a straight forward thing to want to do but I just don;t get how I can do it in Access.

Thanks.
