Hi All,

Was wondering what steps you would take to solve this common problem,

Here are the facts
Old Board: TUV4x
New Board: P4B266
HD: Maxtor 40 gig as primary
CD: Plextor writer
Current OS: Win 2k pro

I have of course tried it already (the swap) but I get the familiar and
helpful " inaccessible_boot_device" blue screen. I have been reading some
posts but I find some are a little contradictory. I am willing to wipe the
drive ( actually more than willing) but I was wondering what steps you take
to get the drive seen. Do you erase the drive and put the 2k cd in and hope
the damn board will boot to it? or is there are a prudent course of action?
I have already done my backups but its Showtime again and I have to get this
puter working soon.

You may have to amend the boot order in bios to enable boot from cd.
The win2k cd is bootable and contains options for format/partition etc prior
to install.
You may be advised, in case of hardware compatibility issues, to
remove/disconnect all extra hardware eg only Keyb,monitor,mouse prior to the
install
