They can even be chained together. I've seen them up with 13 ports (but never used this product to recommend for/against it): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=powered_usb_hub-_-17-364-017-_-Product I'd stick with the 4-port powered hubs and then chain them if I needed more ports.
