Hi,

I'm looking for a multi-function (print/fax/scan/copy) laser printer, that
is able to connect to a network via cat5.
Can anyone recommend one?

Cheers

Ben

Yea. Have you looked at the IBM 1225 MFP? That mfp needs a printer as well.
It is an attachment that sits above the printer that will fax, copy, scan, etc.

I would recommend the IBM 1225 MFP with an IBM 1312 N workgroup printer.

If you are interested, please contact me via (e-mail address removed)

My company is a distributor for IBM printers and I can get you a great deal,
especially on the MFP.

Are you looking for more of a SOHO model?

If so you really have 2 choices. Both are decent, but have their issues
(mostly with the software interface).

HP LJ3330 with a Jetdirect 310x
Brother 8820DN

I have the HP. As a printer it works just fine. As a stand alone fax it
works just fine. Using the PC fax its acceptable, but not great (due to HP
software glitches). As a copier it works fine. As a scanner its acceptable
for most things, but could be better. The scan software utility also needs
some help, but thankfully its a TWAIN device so you can bypass the HP
software altogether and scan directly into your application.

The Brother is newer and in most respects should be similar to the HP. I
hear that Brothers software interface is better than HP's, but still not
without issues......I've read that Brothers scanner is somewhat slow, but
keep in mind that its capable of higher resolution scans than the HP. The
Brother is also a USB 2.0 device. The HP is USB 1.1.

I have not clue about the IBM mentioned by the other poster. I suspect its
much pricier than either the HP or Brother. Still you ought to look into
it....

Good luck.

Hi,

Thanks for the replys. Yeah I am looking for something more SOHO, its to be
used in an office with just 3 PCs, so it won't be heavily used.
Currently they have a HP G85 Officejet, but it seems to have been leaking
ink for sometime, as there is a puddle of ink under it.
Cheers
Ben
