But, regrettably, it ISN'T your software (unless you wrote it and have the
copyright).
Oh yes it is. I purchased it, I own it, I have the right to throw it away
any time I wish to.
Similarly, you don't own what is recorded on the DVD.
Oh yes I do. I purchased it, I own it, I can destroy, deface, and throw it
away any time I wish to. I can make an ash tray out of it if I wish to. I
can use it for a frisbee and let a dog chew it up. I can think of a 1000
things I can do with it.
It is the owners' business what you do with their media.
Only until I purchase it. Then they have no control over what I do until I
DECIDED TO PURCHASE something new from them. Then they can decide to sale
it to me or not. Money, money, money.
Just because you buy the
DVD doesn't mean that you have bought the right to copy, edit or otherwise
alter the media recorded on it.
Never said I did. Why are you changing the subject. (Non-sequitur - Straw
man argument ) That would be denying them the right to make future funds
from their labor. I am not arguing that at all. I am arguing I WANT FULL
FUNCTIONABILITY OF MY COMPUTER. Not some turned down crippled piece of
software barely playing some granny piece of movie.
Not that I really give a toss what you do -
but what you are "shouting" about is just plain silly.
Look around you, the majority of American people, (let alone the world,) are
against Digital Rights Managment, cripling of software, infringement of our
rights and limits on what we own. Denying the truth will not make it go
away. Their's a battle a brewing.
Go and write your
own unique DVD decoder and then go and produce and direct your own movie.
Then you can complain if anyone denies your right to do what you want
with
them on your own computer.
I have, I do, and they do. So what, I can complain all I want, that is what
free discussion is all about. It is the American way. I have been, and have
argued BOTH SIDES OF THIS ARGUMENT, so you do not have anything new to say
to me either. This time I am on the side of the end user of this
discussion.
I have produced and directed movies, and written software. I have also
copied my own movies and software and sold them. Though in small quantities
for the intended audience. I hope they will not copy and distribute it,
denying me income. But I am fully aware what the end user does in his own
home, or on his own computer, is completely beyond my control. I know this
going into the sale of the product. As does everyone else.
Nice try trying to change the subject and get me to defend something I have
not argued for.
BTW - I also recommend Media Player Classic v 6.4.9.0
Thank you
