Here at our company we will have multiple people working on the sam
Excel sheets. It can become a problem when multiple people need to ad
something on the same sheet. To avoid major problems, these kind o
sheets are setup to only allow a single user write access at a time.
However, we would like to be able to find out who is working on a shee
when it is locked. Currently, when opening on of these files (in thi
case an inventory file) I get the message.
-"Inventory.xls is locked for editing
by ' '.
Open in Read Only or click Notify to blah blah blah"-
I don't really understand why it's not recognizing the user who has th
file opened for editing. Shouldn't their computer name or user name b
in ' '?
Thanks for any advice
