tried sda driver and pcmcia drive; no luck

also installed Windows "hotfix"

any other ideas please, thanks for the help.

Check with the SD card reader manufacturer so as to see the reader's
physical size limit. Some older reader 'had" a physical limit on the
capacity (size) of the SD card.
