I bought a GForce MX440 w/8X AGP PCI card today and my board ain't recognizing it. It recognizes anything else I put on the board but today this isn't the case with the card. Could it be the card or my board? I have a Compaq Deskpro EN Series SFF P500 computer with the wackest on-board display adapter. Please help!!

Okay - you said you bought a "GForce MX440 w/8X AGP PCI card". Well, which
is it? AGP or PCI?

Essentially, not all cards work in all computers. I know I have a Dell that
doesn't have AGP slots and only certain PCI cards work with the machine. I
also have a Compaq that has an AGP slot, but because of the rating (2x) on
the AGP slot, my 4x-8x cards won't work.

IIRC the Deskpro EN P500 SFF supports only the 3.3v AGP 1x and 2x cards.
Putting a .8v card in this machine wouldn't work if this is correct. So
perhaps the original poster really ought to look for a PCI version of that
card. Or better yet, get a ATi 9200 PCI card since the GeForce MX cards
all suck.

8X AGP card will not go down to 2X AGP slot voltages. You may be
successfully with 4X AGP slots.
