Recognise a file instead of from a scanner

The software that comes with my scanner directly OCR from the scanner
input. I want to do OCR after the scanning and a file is already
created. Is there any software that can do that for me ? Thanks.

Vuescan? Haven't used OCR but with Vuescan you can do a "scan from
disk."

OmniPage and Abbyy Finereader OCR software can read from a file. Usually a
TIFF.
