I had some consultants in who used TS and grabbed real
licenses. I also have the temp licenses that my own
clients grabbed. My own clients licenses are about to
expire and I don't have any real licenses left becasue
they are being used for a consultants pc that is no longer
on my network. So my question is how do I reclaim liceses
from computers that are no longer on my network so my
current clients can get the real licenses?

Thanks,
Glenn

Depends on the SP you are running on the TS and the Licensing
Server, and when your TS CALs were installed.
If your TS CALs were installed *after* you installed SP3 or
higher, then you don't have to do anything. You will see in the TS
Licensing Manager that these TS CALs have an expiration date. When
the TS CALs are not used anymore (the consultants pc does not
connect to your TS anymore), then the licenses will be returned to
the LS when they expire. In the meantime, your own pcs work on a
temporary license. Since the expiration date is maximally 89 days
ahead, and a temporary license lasts for 90 days, the expired
license will become available in time for your own pcs to pick it
up.

If your TS CALs were installed *before* you installed SP3 on the
TS and the LS, the TS CALs are permanently issued to the
consultants pc. The only way to get them back is to phone the
Clearinghouse and get the licenses re-issued.

Maybe you can help me with this. I'm having the same
problem and the TCALs have no expiration date (the temp
ones do), so they must have been prior to me applying the
service packs.

I called the clearing house and they would not issue me
licenses because I have 2000 Small Business Server. They
said I'd have to pay $200+ for telephone tech support.
They said the article # which said to call them only
applied to Server 2000. I argued taht the licensing
works the same way, but the lady on the phone wouldn't
budge.
