Does using the DBXtract mean, I can click delete file(s) from
anywhere in OE and the file will be automatically saved or stored in
DBXtract?
It extracts all messages from the .dbx files to files OUTSIDE of Outlook
Express (that you can them import). Read the description of DBXtract
(second paragraph under "Program Features"). There is also a link to
Tomsterdam.com (Inside OE) where you find the blurb at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/tools/#dbxtract. Once the extraction is
complete, it is up to you to decide which message was the delete-marked
one that you want to recover, if it was still in the .dbx file.
DBXtract is a utility. It is not an add-on or patch to OE (i.e., it
runs outside of OE).
I haven't had a need for the tool (I use Outlook and its auto-archiving
feature to clean up my main message store and also to clean out the
archive message store). I know about the tool but don't need it (well,
I haven't needed it yet).
