You installed Windows XP Professional for 'office'??!!
Do you mean for your job - or do you mean for the Office product (Microsoft
Office) --> because the latter would be unnecessary.

When you installed Windows XP anew - did you install the hardware drivers
from Dell for the hardware in the system or did you just assume everything
would work?

What does "windows xp pro for office: mean? There is no such product.

Or if you meant that you upgraded to Windows XP Professional so that
you could run Microsoft Office, that wasn't the case. All versions of
Microsoft Office that can run on Windows XP Professional can also run
on XP Home.

i recently had to reinstall
windows,

Why? It's rarely necessary.

is this going to cause problems?

What kind of problems are you concerned with? If you did it correctly,
reinstalling Windows shouldn't cause any problems, other than that you
lose whatever else was on the drive.

Please see the answer I gave to your first post. Please do not make a
new post about the same subject only a few minutes apart. People who
help in these newsgroups live all over the world in different time zones.
