Recent Documents - how do u change the duration of items?

Hi I was wondering if anybody knows how to change the
duration that items can be kept in the recent documents
folder of Windows XP and also if they can be arranged
alphabetically, any suggestions would be much appreciated

Mine are alphabetical. They are kept until another replaces one.
