I am linking windows mail to Yahoo mail.
For some reason I can send mail ok. I can receive mail no problem if I
close and then open windows mail. However, if I windows mail is open and I
send/receive, I get the "noise" and the new email icon at the bottom right
but the message does not make it into the inbox. Also I get an error box
"please review errors below" but the error pane is blank. In the task pane
it says "check for new messages on Yahoo"

Any ideas?

Steve,

I un-installed Norton completely, deleted the email account, set up a new
one - same result. I get the ping, new email in the corner, but not in the
inbox. Outgoing email still OK. Reloading windows mail makes the messages
appear.

Any ideas?

If you switch to another folder and then go back to the inbox do the
messages show? Do you have it set in the inbox to View | Current View |
Show all messages? and also under View | Current View | Group messages by
Conversation should be unchecked.

Steve,

tried all 3 suggestions below with no luck. Opening and closing Windows
Mail still works. Send receive still pings, but message doesn't display in
inbox (unless I close and reopen application). Sending works fine.

btw windows mail used to work fine. However I had to do a factory reinstall
of Vista since Vista was corrupted. Now Vista working v well except for
mail...

Steve,

Tried that too but no luck

FYI: When I send receive I get "Some errors occurred while processing the
requested tasks. Please review the list of errors below for more details."

The "error list below" is actually blank. Under the tasks tab the pane says
"check for new messages for pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk" under connection "Local
Area Network"

Steve,

Absolute miracle, figured it out. Went to tools accounts and deleted
everything below Directory Service. No doubt this will soon unistall Vista
but until then all is well...

Glad you got it working.

My computer was cleaned up, but I need the 25 character product and user name
setting re-installed. How do I get this done without paying?

Thank you

The newsgroup to which you posted is only for issues related to the
Windows Mail program.
Most computers have the 25-character Product Key affixed on a label
that is attached to the bottom (laptops) or back (desktops). If that is
missing, call the computer maker (HP, Dell, etc.).

I'm having the same problem as Sarah but her solution did not work for me. I
had to reload Vista after my computer crashed. Everything seems to working
but can not receive email.

Don't assume your problem is just like someone else's.
Start a new thread and describe your issue in detail.
