receiver unable to open word document

I have saved my document as old 1997-2003 and they are still unable to open
my document that is attached. If I send to myself, of course it will open as
I have the system that it is sent from. I have sent several documents to
several places and no can open, so how can they all have a problem?

If you have several people unable to read your documents, the problem is at your computer.
Save them as RTF (Rich Text File) formats and then everyone has the tools to read these.
