Dcpromo will install and setup DNS for the Active Directory domain and
create the proper entries.

Can you give us an example or elaborate on what exactly was not
"successfully created"?

DNS seems like a

Not sure what you mean by that sentence above??
Can you elaborate please?

Actually there are commands to force registration, but it's automatic
anyway. If you did not choose a proper domain name for AD during the dcpromo
process and/or you did not set or mis-set the Primary DNS Suffix on the
machine, then I can understand why you're have problems.
Thank you
Adam

Adam, please post an unedited ipconfig /all and also please let us know what
the AD DNS domain name is (as it shows up in your ADUC). That will help give
us a clearer picture of your configuration to order to help out.

Hi and thank you for the quick reply.
during DCPROMO process I did not setup primary DNS Suffix on the
machine correctly, and i realized it after dcpromo finished. so i put all IP
and primary DNS setup correctly but my DNS entries for AD are missing.
_Site; _tcp; _udp; _msdcs all those entries.

Thank you again.
P.S.: for the ipconfig output, i dont have access to the server right now.

If you are saying that the machines primary DNS suffix does not match the
name of the AD domain you created, there is a VBS script for changing the
suffix.
Mostly for email verification, email Ace or me with you ipconfig /all and
the name of the domain from Active Directory Users and Computers, we can
send you the script and instructions on using it.

Thank you so much for your help guys

That's why they're missing. Netlogon uses that name to register into DNS
with the same name zone.

As Kevin said, email one of us, we'll send you the script to make it
work....that is ONLY if your AD DNS name is of the correct format, such as
example.com and not just a single label name such "EXAMPLE". If it's a
single label name, then we've got a problem.

my problem was reconfiguring secedit using the following command.

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secdc.sdb /verbose

I see, so you locked yourself out and killed registration by increasing
security?
