I have a client that has around 50 users using Windows
2000 Sp4 to Windows XP sp1. The users are part of a
corrupt Windows 2000 AD domain. The domain name does not
contain any extensions and is called domain. Users only
point to the AD DNS server and dynamic updates is enabled
on the DNS server. The DNS does not contain any SRV
records or LDAP entries or kerberos entries. The other
servers (print, Files and SQL) have reported problems
where it cannot find the DNS when it is pointing to it.
Added the entries to the registry that will aloow the
server to access the DNS without requiring an extension.
This did not repair the problem of dynamic updates. Is
there anyway to rebuild the DNS and DNS and domain without
creating an entirely new domain and user/computer
accounts?
Thank you.
