Hi,

I just installed Windows 2000 professional on a Compaq
Presario 5600i. This was a clean install. However, every
single time I shut the computer down, a while later (about
half an hour) the computer restarts itself. I do not want
it to restart itself. Please tell me how to make it stop
restarting itself.

Thanks,

Rachel

Hello,

As I understand, the problem is: the computer restarts automatically after
shutdown.

This problem can occur if the computer boots from the network. Please check
the related BIOS settings. For example, you may need to disable Auto Power
On and Remote Wake Up.

If the problem persists, please disable Automatically Reboot in Startup and
Recovery under the System Properties Advanced tab. Check to see if you
receive any error message.

Thanks.
